Health Benefits of Walnuts

Nuts are a fantastic food to incorporate into your diet because they are a great source of protein and also contain healthy fat to keep your body full and energized. Walnuts also contain omega 3 fatty acids to keep your heart functioning optimally and to reduce inflammation in the body. They have been known to improve your skin’s health and have properties to fight off illness too! Recipe Variations

There are so many possibilities when it comes to dressing up this walnut butter recipe a little bit to take it to the next level. Add in a dash of cinnamon for a bit more warmth, throw in a splash of vanilla if that’s your favorite, or you could even toss in some cocoa powder for a chocolate walnut butter variation.

What to use Walnut Butter On

Now that you’ve blended up your nut butter, it’s time to spread it on ALL THE THINGS and enjoy! I recommend baking up a loaf of low carb keto banana bread or some instant pot banana bread and spreading or drizzling this nut butter on until your heart’s content! You could also drizzle it over our keto mug cake or a bowl of healthy cinnamon roll protein oatmeal or ANY oatmeal, for that matter! Or you can use this nut butter to make your version of our sugar-free peanut butter cookies. There are endless ways to use this nut butter, so get creative and enjoy!

How to store Homemade Nut Butter

Once you’ve processed up your nut butter, it’s time to store it. I recommend keeping your nut butter in an airtight container or small jar in the fridge. It will last up to about one month in the fridge, maybe longer, so make sure to label it with the date! You can also freeze nut butter and it will last up to 3 months in the freezer.
