Why you will LOVE This Recipe
Breakfast time is so important because it’s the first meal of the day! Breakfast needs to fill our bellies AND nourish us, giving us the energy and nutrients we need to tackle the day! I love easy breakfast recipes like whole30 breakfast casserole and healthy peanut butter oatmeal breakfast bars that are anything but boring, and taste delish! Sometimes though, I just need a good old slice of toast with my favorite toppings and I’m all set for the day! Today I’m going to show you the EASIEST breakfast recipe of all time: Toast in Air Fryer! It’s simple, it’s tasty, and it’s a great way to start the day when you are looking for an easy meal in the morning.
How to make Air Fryer Toast
Cooking up a slice or 2 of toast is already one of the most simple meals you can make, and now I’m going to show you an alternative way to make it that is JUST as easy! Here’s how:
Prepare
Set your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and let it heat up. Place one slice of toast in the mesh basket of your air fryer.
Cook
Cook your toast for about 4 minutes or until it’s cooked to your liking. If you want it to be darker and crispier, I suggest adding 30 seconds to your cook time, and if it is a thin slice, I suggest starting with just 3 minutes on the timer.
DEVOUR
Serve it up however you’d like and enjoy!
Top Tips and Variations
When cooking up your air fryer toast, you can tweak the recipe however you want to so that it suits your needs and preferences! Here are a few ways to do so:
Adjust Cooking Time: Depending on the thickness of your bread, you may need to adjust the cook time a little bit so that the bread is not over or undercooked.
Don’t Overlap the Slices: If you must cook 2 slices of bread at once, just make sure they don’t overlap in the mesh basket of your air fryer.
Make it Garlic Bread: Add some butter and garlic salt to the bread before cooking it to make garlic bread!Make it Paleo or Gluten Free: Feel free to use paleo friendly bread or gluten free bread if needed!
Topping Suggestions
Another fantastic thing about toast is that you can dress it up or dress it down, and enjoy it JUST the way you like it! This toast would be delicious alongside some eggs cooked in the oven with a bit of butter spread on top an a side of air fryer turkey bacon. It would also taste delicious with a generous amount of your favorite nut butter spread on top- I love almond butter, natural peanut butter and cashew butter!
Can’t do nuts? Pumpkin seed butter is for you!
Bring the sweetness by adding a bit of healthy strawberry chia jam or a simple drizzle of honey to your toast.
