How to make Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries in the oven
PreheatÂ
Set your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and allow it to fully preheat.Â
Chop
Carefully peel your sweet potato and cut it into evenly sized ¼ inch thick strips. Place them in a bowl along with the cornstarch and toss until they are all well coated.Â
Toss
Next, add the oil and toss until it evenly coats the sweet potato strips. Next, add the seasoning salt and a pinch of regular sea salt and toss once again!
Spread
Place the sweet potatoes on an ungreased baking sheet and spread them out evenly, leaving room in between each fry!
Bake
Pop the pan in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Take them out, flip them, and then bake an additional 15-20 minutes or until the fries are golden and crunchy. Be aware that they do firm up quite a bit once they have cooled off a bit.Â
Enjoy
Let the fries cool for a few minutes, then DEVOUR!
How to avoid burning Sweet Potato Fries in the OvenÂ
If you’re concerned you might burn your fries, there’s a sure fire way to avoid that from happening! When cutting your sweet potato into strips, simply ensure that each strip is the same size. That way, all your fries will cook evenly and have that perfect crisp!
