With that being said, I bet you have some hungry kiddos that you need to be feeding. Whether you need some healthy kid friendly snacks to send with them in their lunch box OR snacks that you can give them after school, I got you covered! All 35 of these healthy snacks for children can be made ahead so you have something to throw into the lunch, or have ready when they get home!
No need to fuss around trying to prepare something. Making sure you kiddos get nourishment is really as easy as a little planning. And, with said planning, you can create some of these healthy treats for kids that they will actually ENJOY eating! YAY!
What kinds of snacks are best for kids?
While I don’t have kids, if I did, I would make sure to give them snacks with a good dose of healthy, whole carbohydrates and protein. Kiddos are ACTIVE and growing, so the carbs will give them the fuel they need to keep going, and the protein will help them form strong bones and muscles!
I would also say to make sure they get adequate healthy fats – think nuts, seeds, avocado etc – as this will help with their brain healthy! <–VERY key if you want them to do their best in school!
Kid Friendly Snack Making Pantry Essentials
When making these healthy snacks for kids, there are a few ingredients you will see used often, so I made you a list of things that would be good to keep stored in your pantry:

Remember Balance and Moderation
While it’s important to feed your kids high quality, nourishing, whole foods the majority of the time, I still believe kids should be kids! Allow them some treats. Don’t stress if another kids brings cupcakes for their birthday and they want to eat one. Let them enjoy and see that ALL food can be eaten in moderation. We don’t want to have our kiddos grow up with issues around food 🙂
