PIN Air Fryer Salmon
Oh don’t mind me.
Just me with my air fryer again because it hasn’t left my counter since I got it. Scouts honor
Really though, it is about to rock your world even more because it makes the FLAKIEST, moist-est salmon that is just crazy-amazing kind of good and perfect for those busy weeknights where you need an easy dinner but have NO TIME to cook!
So, liiike, every dinner!
Usually I like to flavor up my salmon – honey sriracha miso glazed salmon or Indian salmon curry – are my go-to’s. But, sometimes?
You just gotta KISS – keep it simple sillypants (it’s actually stupid, but that’s not nice) and this easy dinner does JUST that.
Easy Weeknight Dinner!
On those busy weeknights when you’ve had a long day and you come home hungry, all you want is a meal that’s easy to throw together BUT that also tastes great! Fish is surprisingly easy to make, cooks fast, is very nutritious, and tastes AMAZE. You could try my air fryer mahi mahi or this delish salmon recipe! It literally has only 2 ingredients and cooks up in one of my FAVE appliances- my air fryer! Who says weeknight meals have to be boring? Dress it up or eat it as is, this salmon is not going to disappoint!
Air Fryer Salmon Ingredients
One of the best things about using an air fryer to cook food is that it uses WAY less oil to cook your meal to perfection, but the taste is all there! If you’re on the fence on whether or not to pick yourself up an air fryer, let this be your answer! When cooking salmon in air fryer, you will only need 2 ingredients:
- Salmon
- Olive Oil
How to Cook Salmon in the Air Fryer
Well that didn’t take long to gather up our ingredients now did it!? If you’ve grabbed your olive oil and salmon, let’s go ahead and get started!
Preheat
Turn on your air fryer and set it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow it to preheat fully.
Prepare
Pat your salmon dry with some paper towel, then drizzle on the olive oil. Rub it in with your fingers so that the salmon is evenly coated. Place the salmon in the mesh basket of your air fryer.
Bake
Cook your salmon until it reaches your desired doneness. Let it rest for 10 minutes in the air fryer after cook time is done.
Enjoy
Serve with whatever sides you like and DEVOUR!
How Long to Cook Salmon in Air Fryer?
For that perfect medium rare doneness on your cut of salmon, I recommend cooking it in your air fryer for approximately 6-9 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 120 degrees Fahrenheit on a meat thermometer. Once it’s done, allow the salmon to rest for 10 minutes and the temperature will rise again slightly.
How Do You Know When Salmon is Done?
You will know that your salmon is cooked and ready to devour when it’s got that “flaky” texture. I like to gently poke it with a fork and if it’s done, it will easily flake. You will also know that it’s done when its temperature reaches 120 degrees internally, and then you rest it for 10 minutes. Don’t skip the rest, or it won’t be cooked enough!
What to Serve with Air Fryer Salmon?
I love to cook salmon because it goes well with so many different healthy sides. Here’s some side dishes that I recommend to make this tasty salmon a meal:
- Veggies: Easy Blanched Asparagus is always my go-to when it comes to salmon. Oven Roasted Maple Bacon Brussels Sprouts would also be a great choice, as maple and salmon together are DELISH.
- Potatoes: Oven Roasted Lemon Greek Potatoes would be fantastic, or for a low carb option, try Healthy Garlic Mashed Cauliflower Potatoes!
