Sunday Reflections - Thoughts on what God has been teaching me this week! | #Foodfaithfitness | #Faith #Bible #Inspiration #Christian #Devotionals

Hi friends!

It’s been awhile! I’ve been on vacation in Canada visiting my family for the last 2 weeks and it was SO refreshing! But, it’s nice to be back into my routine, because I am SUCH a “routine person.”

Anyway. While flying to Vancouver, I found this amazing Podcast called “Eating with Grace.” I power listened on my flights, and one of the episodes really struck me.

Christine (the podcaster) talked about how, a lot of times, we are afraid to really step out in faith and trust God with something we know He is calling us to do because we worry that some worst-case scenario will happen.

For example, in my own body image struggles I worry that I will gain a bunch of weight and hate how I look and be unhappy and that Mr. FFF won’t think I am attractive etc.

Which, in my heart, I know is not true at ALL. But, this is MY worst-case scenario that prevents me from FULLY giving up the battle I have with food/body image and handing it over to The Lord. My mind RIGHT NOW cannot fathom how on Earth I would handle it IF that did happen.

(Which it might not. In fact, in this case, I know it won’t. But, that doesn’t make my fears any less real to me.)

BUT, the beautiful thing is like Romans 12:2 says “2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”

God will renew our minds. But, first,  we step out and trust Him. Even IF that “worst case scenario” DOES happen.

Our fearful minds in this moment don’t know how we can handle that future scenario, because it is scary and unknown. BUT, if we trust God and walk through the fear with Him, He will be with us and He will be renewing our minds to be able to handle that IF it does come to reality.

I love this so much because I get so tied up in the future and the “what ifs” that it made me take a step back and just live for the “right now.” What step do I need to take RIGHT NOW and trust that, as I walk with God, he will change my future mind to be able to handle any scary thing that comes me way?

So, is there something in YOUR life that you haven’t taken that step of faith with? I challenge you to try to step into that scary place and allow God to be with you, support you, and renew your mind.

Happy Sunday!
