Broccoli Cranberry Salad screams summer to me. The weather is getting warmer and I am seriously CRAVING colorful, light, nutritious recipes. Much like a tasty Crab Avocado Salad and Cauliflower Rice Burrito Bowl, this Broccoli Cranberry Salad leaves me perfectly satisfied with zero guilt!
Broccoli Salad is a classic dish that has been around forever. It goes back further than being a staple at my family BBQs and was originally served as broccoli slaw (coleslaw’s cousin) and a notable potluck dish in the 1930s. From Broccoli Slaw on, there have been many variations of broccoli salad. While I love the nostalgia and flavors in the Broccoli Salad with cheese and bacon, and the peanut sauce on the newer Asian Healthy Broccoli Salad, lately Broccoli Cranberry Salad is my go-to, ESPECIALLY for summertime!
Broccoli Cranberry Salad takes the cake IMO for a number of reasons.
- I love anything sweet and savory! And if you can add a bite of tanginess in there, I am yours! The broccoli, red onion, cranberry, maple syrup, oil and vinegar come together completely.
- The creaminess of the dressing on our Broccoli Cranberry Salad helps soften the crunch and earthiness of the broccoli. It also just makes all the ingredients stick together, so you are always getting the perfect bite.
- Speaking of crunch… I love the roasted, chopped almonds in this salad, and I think you will too!
- Finally, I love the ease of this dish. No cooking, mix it all together, chill, and DEVOUR!
Is Broccoli Cranberry Salad Healthy?
Broccoli is a superfood, which is high in antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is also low in calories and carbs. Almonds and cranberries are also superfoods, which makes this salad SUPER healthy! We also use Greek yogurt for the creaminess, which is high in protein and calcium. This delicious salad is vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free.

FAQs & Tips
This is another amazing dish that you SHOULD make ahead! Once all the ingredients are mixed, cover, and place in the refrigerator. Broccoli Cranberry Salad tastes best after chilling for several hours or overnight. It will last in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days.
You sure can! To make this vegan just replace the Greek yogurt with a non-dairy yogurt such as coconut, almond, or soy milk-based yogurt.
Good question! No. You do not have to cook the broccoli. By chopping the florets small and as evenly as possible, and allowing the salad to marinate the broccoli will soften.
Serving Suggestions
This Broccoli Cranberry Salad will totally elevate your summer get-together. For a BBQ, I recommend you make something a bit spicy like Cajun Burgers or zesty Grilled Moroccan Chicken Kebabs.
If you are going for more of a picnic vibe, go for something that you can serve cold and transport easily or assemble quickly. My hands-down, all-time FAVE summer meal is a delicious Lobster Roll. So, so delish. You can also serve Broccoli Cranberry Salad with Avocado Chicken Salad or Egg Salad. These can be served on lettuce wraps or rolls.
