PIN How to Use Protein Powder

Yep! We’re talking protein again!

We just talked about 15 ways in increase your protein intake and today we’re talking specifically about protein powder!

An ingredient that a lot of you probably have and use, but maybe in the same way over and over and over again and you are getting BORED?

Or maybe you’ve never bought it because you’ve always wondering what to put protein powder in? So, you just didn’t even both to try!

So, today I’m going to show you 3 easy ways to use protein powder along with some super easy protein powder recipes to get you started!

Benefits of Protein

Protein is an important component of every cell in the body, such as hair and nails. Your body uses protein to build and repair tissues and make enzymes, hormones and other body chemicals. It’s also an important building blog of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin and blood!

Unlike carbs and fat, the body does not store protein. So, it has no reserves to draw from when it needs them – which is why you need to eat it!

Protein also helps increase satiety- helping you feel fuller and more satisfied at mealtimes!

Benefits of protein powder

Protein powder has all the benefits of protein above, but it allows protein consumption to be very easy and on-the-go. You don’t need to spend time making protein rich foods or meal-prepping them, because you can just mix it and go!

Plus, protein comes in fun flavors which can encourage you to eat it and meet your protein requirements!

How to Use Protein powder

Ever wondered what to mix protein powder with? Here are 3 of my favorite ways to use protein powder:

  1. Protein oatmeal

Adding protein powder right into oatmeal is a very fast and easy way to make a complete breakfast in the morning and is one of my favorite high protein breakfast recipes! Additionally, you can use different flavors to add varieties to your breakfast each day! My favorite protein oatmeal is this cinnamon roll protein oatmeal as they taste like a cinnamon roll!

  1. Protein shakes

Protein smoothies are probably the most common way to use protein powder and for good reason! It’s easy and really makes shakes filling. Most protein shakes are low protein, which can leave you feeling very hungry soon after. Adding protein powder can help add flavor to your shake but also help make it more filling and satisfying! One of my favorite ways is making a peanut butter chocolate protein smoothie!

  1. Protein Powder Cookie Dough

I LOVE cookie dough! So, when I realized that you could swap out the flour for protein powder? I WAS IN. Making protein powder cookie dough is quick, easy and a great snack or dessert! In most dessert or baking recipes, you can swap some of the flour for protein powder, but not all the time. I recommend finding a recipe already tested for you if you want to make sure it works!

Now, what are your favorite ways to use protein powder? Let me know in the comments and I hope you found this helpful!
