Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup green olives sliced
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon capers rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup water or beef broth

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until onions are translucent.

  • Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned.

  • Stir in tomatoes, olives, raisins, capers, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add water or broth and bring to a simmer.
